ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT
TLAP Sports Academy’s mission is to build the prefect student athlete. We believe that intense sports training and a balance of educational college preparatory offerings is critical to a successful student athletes growth. Our athletics program offers one sport season which are typically longer, giving each student-athlete the opportunity to master their skill set year-round. Any student that wants to participate in athletics must have the appropriate medical and athletic forms submitted in advance.
TLAP Sports Academy is a full member school of the FHSAA.

At TLAP Sports Academy, we believe in “honor above all.” The Athletic Department emphasizes the value of each individual and respect for others. We stress teamwork, sportsmanship, personal commitment, a quest for excellence, a sense of fair play, and fun. Knowing that participation in athletics improves students’ self-confidence and overall health, our coaching staff is committed to fostering each student-athlete’s confidence, decision-making skills, sense of responsibility, and leadership skills. These qualities will serve them well in college and throughout life.
Through fostering broad participation in teamwork, sportsmanship, personal commitment and enthusiastic support for the academy, the Athletic Department also generates a sense of pride in the student body, the faculty, and the larger academy community.
"It is the philosophy of the Athletic Department of TLAP Sports Academy to provide a competitive opportunity in interscholastic athletic sports, through which Christ may be honored. It is also important to give the support necessary to allow our student athletes to reach their highest level of athletic skill, increase their cognitive processes, improve social skills, and glorify God “with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with thy mind,” Luke 10:27".
TLAP Sports Academy Athletic Department is excited for the start of the 2015 - 2016 school year. Our goal is to prepare student athletes to compete on the playing fields, in the classroom and beyond. The lessons learned through athletics are many. Teamwork. Dedication. Sportsmanship. To be a TLAP Black Hawk is to be a role model and citizen leader.
