International Admissions

 

TLAP Sports Academy welcomes international students from all parts of the world. Students in our Upper School have come from Nigeria, Korea, China, Lithuania, Turkmenistan, and the Netherlands, to name a few. We are looking for international students with strong English proficiency who desire to learn, to innovate, and to make an impact.

 

APPLICATION  REQUIREMENTS**

 

TLAP Sports Academy welcomes students from around the world to its campus in West Palm Beach, Florida. We provide housing for students to live with a TLAP host family. Hosts provide accommodations, meals, guidance, friendship, and assistance during the student’s tenure.

TLAP Sports Academy is authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students. In addition to the regular application for admission, international students must conduct a Skype interview with our Admissions Team and submit a bank verified financial statement as per the procedure below.

 

Application Dates
Parents may submit the application at any time. We offer rolling admission, so there is no need to wait to apply.

Application Procedure

Step 1 – The Application
The application is the first step to our Admissions Process. A current photograph of your child is requested to help the Admission Committee put a face with a name!

 

Step 2 - Request for Transcripts 
We ask that you include the last three years of grade reports, translated into English, including any testing results with your application. We require official transcripts directly from the student's current school.

Step 3 – Birth Certificate and Immunization Records
We must have a copy of the student’s birth certificate and immunization records, translated into English.

 

Step 4 - In order for TLAP Sports Academy to prepare to issue an I-20 form, United States Immigration and Naturalization Service’s require that all parents of applicants submit proof of their ability to support their child's studies. This documentation is usually required when applying for an F-1 visa. Unless TLAP Sports Academy has offered International student full-Scholarship

 

Step 5 - Schedule an Admission Interview
When you have submitted your forms to the Admission Office, we will contact you. Admission interviews generally take about 20 minutes and are an informal, “get-to-know-you” time in which we will also look for English proficiency. This process will take place with a Skype interview.

 

Step 6 - TLAP Sports Academy issues an I-20

Step 7 - F-1 Visa Transfer for Students Already in the U.S. 

If you are transferring from another school in the U.S. and already have a F-1 Visa, please sign the top portion of the International Student Transfer Form and submit it with your application.

Step 8 - Admission Decision
Admission decisions will be made on a rolling basis. You will be notified by mail and will have two weeks to return the enrollment contract sent with acceptance letter.

Step 9 - Pay annual tuition. *Starting with the 2015-2016 school year, annual tuition for international students must be paid in advance and is non-refundable.
